Completed in 2022, the Chittagong power plant is situated on the Bay of Bengal, 70 km south of Chittagong port in Bangladesh. This 2x612MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant was developed under China’s Belt and Road Initiative through a joint venture between S. Alam Group, SEPCOIII, and HTG Development Group. The plant features two 27.9-meter-high fly ash concrete silos with a 15.6-meter diameter and 2650 cubic meters capacity each. FERBECK INTERNATIONAL SA was contracted to construct two 33.2-meter flue-gas desulfurization units.
